And the gigs go on...

As I write this, I am sat outside the Trafford Centre while my family visit the fun fair they have outside the food court. I’ve been sat in the car for over an hour and a half arranging songs on my laptop for guitar club at school this week. Katy Perry’s Firework is always a popular choice for this time of year but this time I’ve avoided the temptation to simplify it, as I do with most songs, especially the ones in awkward keys for guitar and have instead opted for a 2-guitar arrangement with simple lines.

Something else I’ve done with this one is to add bars rest. Yes, actual points in songs that don’t require playing. Who’d have thunk it?! The kids will thank me for it, no doubt.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of playing guitar alongside Chesqua for a wedding drinks reception at Holmes Mill in Clitheroe. The crowd were certainly up for it and Chesqua is so good at getting the crowd involved. We even ended up with a little dance troupe for the last half hour or so who didn’t want to stop dancing!

This week, apart from schools I will be playing at Bents Garden Centre this Saturday 9th November at their Winter Food Festival. Resisting the urge as much as I can to play Christmas songs in November but we all know that won’t last very long! I’ll also be there the Saturday after (16th) where I will playing nothing BUT Christmas tunes as I’ll have broken the seal on them!

Plenty more gigs to come between now and New Year including a trip to London & a very special celebrity event but they can wait for another blog post…
